India (back to Homepage)
In Oct / Nov, 2004 Sheila and I trained from Delhi to the northern hilltown of Nainital, then south
to the famous ruins of Agra
and Fatehpur Sikri. And after seeing much of Rajasthan by local bus, we
joined our new friends Balu, Dean and Ronaldo on a 3-day motorcycle journey.
From Udaipur,
we rode those horrible Enfield Bullets through remote villages northwards to
the Pushkar Camel Fair. Despite suicidal driving conditions, fond memories
include a stay at Indian healer Dos Sadhu’s sacred cow shelter, and a
shave supervised by 27 curious village bystanders.
